Boat ~ Designed by Marie-M

Instructions:
This pattern is knitted in 2 pieces, with DK wool and 4mm needles
Hull: Cast on 13 sts in blue
Rows 1 & 2 – knit
Row 3 – knit, increase one st at each end (15 sts)
Row 4 – knit
Row 5 – knit, increase one st at each end (17 sts)
Row 6-8 – knit
Sails & Mast: Change to white and brown & stocking stitch
Row 1 – knit 8 white, 1 brown, 8 white
Row 2 – purl 8 white, 1 brown, 8 white
Continue central brown mast stitch throughout.
Row 3 – knit
Row 4 and every alternate row – purl
Row 5 – k2 tog at each end (15 sts)
Row 7 – k2tog at each end (13 sts)
Row 9 – k2tog at each end (11sts)
Row 11 – k2tog at at each end (9 sts)
Row 13 – k2tog at each end (7 sts)
Row 15 – k2tog at each end (5 sts)
Row 17 – k2tog at each end (3sts)
Row 19 – k2tog k1 (2sts)
Row 20 – purl
Row 21 – sl1, k1, psso.
B&T

For the back of the boat use the same pattern but omit the mast.

Making Up:
Sew up the 2 side seams, stitch on a flag, Marie-M used felt.
