Instructions:
UK Terminology
Use Double Knitting and 4 mm hook
Head:
Round 1: Magic Ring 6 dc (6sts)
Round 2: 2 dc in each st (12sts)
Round 3: (2 dc in first st, 1 dc in next st) rpt to end of round (18 sts)
Round 4: (2 dc in first st, 1 dc in next 2 sts) rpt to end (24 sts)
Rounds 5-12: 1 dc in each st (24 sts)
Ears (Make 2):
Round 1: Chain 2 then 5 dc into 2nd chain from hook (5 sts)
Round 2: Turn chain 1 then 2 dc in each stitch (10 sts)
Round 3: Turn chain 1 (2dc in first st, 1 dc in next st) rpt to end (15 sts)
Round 4: Turn chain 1 (2dc in first st, 1 dc in next two sts) rpt to end (20 sts)
Round 5: Turn slip st 2 sts then 4 dc into 3 sts then slip st 2 sts bind off
Trunk:
Chain 15 then dc into 2nd chain from hook rpt to end (14 sts) bind off

Head: Bind off and sew in ends
Ears: Bind off and sew in ends and attach to elephant hat either side towards the front of the hat
Trunk: Bind off and sew in ends and attach to elephant hat in between the two ears
Face: Attach googly eyes
