Miss Octopus ~ Designed by Marie-M

Instructions:
Using DK wool and 4mm needles cast on 26 sts.
For best results do all your casting on using the method outlined below.

Casting on:
1st stitch – make a slip knot with your fingers and put it on the left needle.
2nd stitch – cast on by using the simple method of knitting into the front of the first stitch
3rd stitch – cast on by passing the right needle behind both the front and back of the 2nd stitch
4th and following stitches -continue as with 3rd stitch. 

Rows 1 & 2: Knit.
Row 3: Cast off 11 sts, knit to end (tentacle 1).
Rows 4, 5, 6: Knit.
Row 7: Cast on 11 sts, knit to end.
Row 8: Knit.
Repeat rows 3-8 six times.
Next Row: Cast off 11 sts, knit to end, this completes tentacle 8.
Knit 2 further rows.
Cast off.
Leave a tail for sewing up.

Making up: Sew up the back seam on the right side, leave the top open. The wrong side now becomes the finished side. Gather the head 3 sts down from the top edge, pull up tightly.

Decoration: 2 eyes – using googly eyes, buttons, felt or other. 
A bow – using gift-tie ribbon, 1/2″ wide, tie a single central knot and trim the ends.
